Barbican Protect appoints head of casualty

London - March - Barbican Protect, the UK retail arm of Barbican Insurance Group, has today announced the appointment of Rob Wadey as head of casualty, with immediate effect. He will report to Stuart Kilpatrick, managing director of Barbican Protect.
A highly experienced liability underwriter, Mr. Wadey’s industry career spans over 35 years. Most recently, he was general liability underwriting manager at W R Berkley Insurance Company (Europe), having joined the firm in July 2010. During his extensive career, he has held numerous senior underwriting positions, including: senior liability underwriter at Amlin UK; liability head office senior underwriter at AXA Insurance UK and senior liability underwriter at CNA Insurance. He entered the insurance sector in 1981, joining Cigna Insurance – then AFIA – as an assistant casualty underwriter.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Kilpatrick said: “I am delighted that Rob is joining Barbican Protect. He brings an incredible level of experience and market insight to the team. In addition, he has a great reputation for building successful relationships across a broad spectrum of clients both in London and regional markets.”
