Barbican Protect launches marine insurance division

London 6th January– Barbican Protect, the UK insurance arm of Barbican Insurance Group, has today announced it has set up a new marine insurance division with the appointment of Sarah Joiner as a marine underwriter. Based in London, Ms. Joiner reports to Stuart Kilpatrick, managing director of Barbican Protect.
The marine division will deliver a wide range of insurance solutions to the UK SME market, spanning annual marine cargo (including stock throughput), hauliers and freight forwarders liability, as well as freight forwarders online cargo.
Ms. Joiner has over 10 years of experience in the marine sector. Most recently, she was director and underwriter at Argosy Underwriting Agency which specialises in cargo insurance, hauliers and freight forwarders liability insurance, having joined the firm in 2013. Prior to this, she worked at Northern Marine Underwriters as a development underwriter. She entered the marine sector as an account manager with ACIS Cargo Underwriting in 2005.
