It's BIBA 2017 - Time to challenge...

With less than two weeks to go before the team from Barbican Protect exhibit again at the BIBA Conference in Manchester, we are looking forward to the opportunity of speaking with brokers and helping them challenge the ‘norm.’

In the year since our last BIBA, we have seen a great deal of competitive activity in the market. Clients are now looking for stronger insight, and a greater understanding of their individual needs and the demands of their specialist industries; while brokers are looking to grow by targeting sectors that are experiencing change or are under wider market pressures. However, in response, some underwriters are still applying a ‘one size fits all’ approach, rather than seeking to understand what their clients/brokers really need to run their businesses effectively.

Over the last 12 months, Barbican Protect has continued to support brokers in challenging that ‘one size fits all’ approach. We have focused on enhancing our skills and expertise to better understand the needs of our chosen markets; using that knowledge to adapt and build upon our agile, decisive and dynamic underwriting approach to ultimately help our brokers win more business. We have also expanded the team and launched our new marine offering.

Building on the success of BIBA 2016, we have taken the time to talk and, more importantly, listen to brokers around the UK to find out what kind of support they want from Barbican Protect. The success of our proposition as an MGA, centred on working with our brokers to make a difference to their businesses and delivering long-term profitability to our carriers, is a testament to our approach.
